World Mobile: A revolution in telecommunications.
The fundamentals.
Using the "sharing economy" concept World Mobile is creating a telecommunications network focused on connecting the unconnected. This network has already been tested and rolled out in Zanzibar, and over 20,000 users that had limited internet access before are now communicating and transacting with talk, text, and data services for less than half of the average cost in the region. The users are connected by a network of privately owned "air-nodes", that relay information from phones to the World Mobile Network over a Starlink connection.

MAV100 intends to purchase airnodes and donate them in partnership with Associated Student Body Clubs within schools. The intention would be that the proceeds from running the node would at first help pay off the initial cost, allowing MAV100 to purchase more nodes and continue to build out the network for that school district. At first approaching community members to add a World Mobile subscription would be a great fund-raising opportunity, but eventually with enough air-nodes the school could provide the community with a robust telecommunications service.

With control of their own telecommunications and the revenues that can be derived from them, students in this generation can begin truly being part of the solutions to many of society's problems. With equal opportunity to information, funding, and decision-making students in remote areas can be a force to be reckoned with.
